Full face roller bit drill heads are used in very hard rock formations with strengths > 100 MPa. They make drilling through rock in a single drilling cycle possible without timeconsuming and costly tool changes. The rock cuttings are usually conveyed by the air-lift technique into a collector box mounted on top of the drill head. After having drilled to a certain depth, the full face drill head is retracted and the collector box is emptied
