A 300 mm Full Displacement Pile (FDP) Auger is a specialized geotechnical drilling tool engineered to construct cast-in-place concrete displacement piles. Unlike standard Continuous Flight Augers (CFA) that extract cuttings to the surface, an FDP auger forces the surrounding soil laterally outward during rotation and penetration.
This densifies the surrounding ground, eliminates soil removal costs, and increases pile skin friction
Tooling Design & Components
Pilot Bit: Changeable fishtail or round-shank chisel bit at the tip that initiates ground penetration.
Cutting Flights: A short helical section equipped with tungsten carbide teeth (e.g., Betek BFZ72/80 or B47K22) that loosens soil and feeds it toward the expansion body.
Displacement Body (Bulb): A heavy-duty, smooth conical/cylindrical expansion section that pushes the displaced soil into the borehole wall under high torque and downward crowd force.
Counter-Flights: Reverse-pitched upper flights that compress any loose soil back down toward the displacement bulb, maintaining a clean hole top.
Hollow Stem: Internal fluid passage running through the center tube, equipped with a lost bit or release shoe at the tip for pumping concrete during extraction.
Drive Joint: Hexagonal coupling (254MM,368MM, HD4,HD5 XHD5 25HDD5 HEX160 HEX200,or custom flange at the top to connect to Kelly extensions or rig rotaries.
