Soil Mixing

Soil Mixing is the process of constructing in-situ soil-cement columns. Cementitious grout is injected into the soils as a drill rig advances drill steel with a radial mixing paddle (single axis), radial mixing paddles (multi-axis), and/or rotating drums with blades (Cutter Soil Mixing) located near the bottom of the drill string, to plan depth. The radial mixing paddle(s) mechanically cuts and blends the soil with the injected grout. This process creates in-situ soil-cement individual columns, rows of overlapping columns, or 100% mass stabilization.
